We are blessed to have a dedicated Eucharistic Adoration Chapel which is opened daily for parishioners and visitors to spend time with our Eucharistic Lord. Eucharistic Adoration is at the heart of St. Ignatius Catholic Church community, after the daily celebration of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass “ which in itself the Church’s supreme act of adoration” (Pope Benedict XVI).
All are encouraged to commit to a Holy Hour with Our Lord. In the words of St. John Paul II:
Established during the tenure of Fr. Devon Nash, the then Pastor of St. Ignatius Parish, the Adoration Chapel was originally located in St. Ignatius Church in what was then a small chapel which was mainly used for the celebration of weekday morning Masses. in 1998, the converted Chapel was named “The Blessed Sacrament Adoration Chapel. Initially, the Chapel was opened from 6 a.m. to midnight on weekdays and for 24 hours on the weekends. However, after the devastation of Hurricane Ivan in 2004, the opening hours were reduced.
Recognizing the need for a separate building devoted to Eucharistic Adoration, Fr. Suresh Rajaian, SAC, with the generous support of parishioners, commissioned a purpose-built Adoration Chapel which was constructed adjacent to St. Ignatius Church. The new Chapel was dedicated on December 4, 2016, by Archbishop Kenneth Richards of the Archdiocese of Kingston, Jamaica and was named the “Divine Mercy Adoration Chapel.
The Divine Mercy Adoration Chapel is opened daily from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Anyone interested in registering for a Holy Hour are encouraged to call the Church Office at 949-6797 or contact one of the co-ordinators below:
