In the Spirit of the Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy, the Christian Service Commission launched the St. Ignatius Food Pantry on Sunday, December 18th, 2016. This service to the needy is an important part of the being merciful like the Father, in fact, it is one of the corporal works of mercy.
We are encouraging everyone to be part of this great mercy initiative by donating food and other non-perishable items so that the Food Pantry can be fully stocked. In this regard, the following food items are required and can be dropped off at the Church after Mass or the Church Office at any time:
Personal items: Bath soap, toothpaste, toilet paper, deodorant, body lotion, other toiletries, etc.
Drinks: Tea, coffee, sugar, cocoa, condensed milk, coffee mate, canned or box juices – apple, pineapple, mixed, etc.
Carbohydrates: Rice, noodles, flour, cornmeal, oats, pasta, etc.
Other Items: Cooking oil, salt, black pepper, assorted dried seasonings/spices, detergent, jams, biscuits, low sugar cereals, etc.
Shopping Bags:Reusable shopping bags are always much appreciated!
Please direct people who need our help to contact the Church Office or one of the Christian Service Commission Members.
The Food Pantry is located in the former Adoration Chapel. The area was recently renovated and blessed to accommodate this new ministry to the needy. Together, as a community, let us make a difference in the lives of others!
